Flexibility is a key factor in the successful deployment of a wireless solution. Fluidmesh products facilitate this task by being the only solution in the market supporting Point-to-Point, Point-to-Multipoint, Mesh, and Mixed architectures with the same hardware. This is achieved by using FluidMAX™, a patent-pending technology that allows any of our wireless products to operate with a centralized medium access control protocol, or with a distributed medium access control protocol, depending on the network layout. That means that our units can operate in either CSMA or TDMA. The decision is made automatically by the network based on its layout and requires no user intervention.

FluidMAX™ solves the hidden terminal issue which is a common problem in the deployment of outdoor wireless networks and one of the main causes of network performance degradation. The throughput available on each link can now be easily calculated during the design phase of the network leading to a no-surprise solution once the network is deployed in the field. A higher predictability means a shorter deployment time, a satisfied customer, and a higher ROI on the deployment.

Moreover, FluidMAX™ allows you to create a network with multiple architectures. You can mix mesh, point-to-multipoint, and point-to-point topologies creating a single mixed infrastructure for maximum performances and simplicity. This is also a great advantage in case you decide to modify the topology of your system or to expand your wireless infrastructure. Each Fluidmesh device can operate in any of the three topologies right out of the box and at no additional cost.

Life is short. We like to keep it simple.

In developing FluidMAX, Fluidmesh has embraced the WiMax Point-to-Multipoint Architectures and improved their features and capabilities to meet the needs of system integrators in the security and industrial automation industry. The FluidMAX protocol is fully automatic and does not require any set-up by the user. When the network detects that the units are set-up in a WiMax-style star topology, each Fluidmesh unit automatically enables the patent-pending FluidMAX mode.

FluidMAX Unique Attributes and Advantages

•    Cost-Effective
FluidMAX allows the user to dramatically reduce the number of Fluidmesh devices required to build the network. Using sector antennas and splitters, the network designer can create up to 10 long-range links towards one single Fluidmesh 2200.

•    Reliable
FluidMAX solves the hidden terminal issues found when creating point-to- multipoint networks with purely mesh devices. In such scenarios,  FluidMAX delivers 100% of the expected throughput by avoiding the packet collisions that are typical in hidden terminal scenarios.

•    Easy
FluidMAX makes the network configuration and set-up extremely simple. Thanks to its patent-pending algorithms, FluidMAX analyzes the network topology  and selects the optimal communication protocol automatically for each unit. The Master,Slave, and Mesh roles are assigned automatically based on the optimal network set-up.

•    Flexible
FluidMAX is the most flexible network solution because the user can employ the same wireless product to create point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, and mesh networks with no hardware changes. Moreover, mixed architectures are a possibility as well, meaning part of the network is based on a mesh topology, while another part is based on a point-to-multipoint topology.
