Milan, 21 june 2006. For the city of Turbigo, near Milan, it’s time of change: a wireless video-surveillance system using cutting-edge Fluidmesh technology has been installed to guarantee a higher security level. The system is now working and it covers an area of about 16 Km2.
Fluidmesh 2200 is a wireless product with innovative “intelligent” transmission capabilities not present in any traditional Wi-Fi or HiperLAN device. Based on advanced mesh networking algorithms, Fluidmesh technology is able to optimize the transmission by determining a continuous analysis of the optimal path, performing “intelligent” routing of packets in real time. Moreover, every Fluidmesh 2200 is able not only to transmit the data packets coming from the camera directly connected to it, but also to relay the video streams of other Fluidmesh units in the area based on a best-path analysis.
One of the strengths of the Fluidmesh 2200 is the advanced transmission protocol specifically developed for video streaming in CCTV applications. Each Fluidmesh unit is capable of detecting the type of packet transmitted (es. TCP, UDP, etc.) and the video-encoding standard employed (es. MPEG4 I-frame, MEPG4 P-frame, M-JPEG) and to optimize the transmission based on that information. This kind of packet management guarantees shorter latency periods and a much better performing infrastructure.
“The installation in Turbigo shows how versatile Fluidmesh technology is. As shown in our past installations in Como and Florence - declares Andrea Orioli, Fluidmesh Networks director - Fluidmesh technology proved to be successful in very different scenarios showing the great flexibility that such a technology provides.”
“We decided to install a system which guarantees reliability and flexibility”, declares Danilo Girasole, manager of Verga Sistemi S.r.l., the system integrator that carried out the installation in Turbigo. “Fluidmesh technology provides a redundant solution with unparalleled performances: operating simultaneously on two different frequencies (2.4 and 5 Ghz), it guarantees to have a reliable system not subject to sources of interference. In addition, the mesh technology developed by Fluidmesh Networks, being a fully mesh solution, performs better than any other point-to-point or multipoint system we tested in the past.”
Fluidmesh products are currently sold only through selected CCTV distributors and system integrators who joined the Fluidmesh Channel Partners Network both in Europe and in the United States.
Fluidmesh Networks has presented its innovative product to the European market in conjunction with the 2006 edition of IFSEC. Fluidmesh 2200 will be presented to the US market in the Fall 2006 in San Diego at ASIS International Annual Seminar and Exhibits.
